Technical Expertise: Provide expert knowledge on lumber engineered lumber products, including I-joists, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), parallel strand lumber (PSL), and roof/floor trusses.
Consultation: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and builders to recommend appropriate engineered lumber solutions for specific projects.
Product Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, product developments, and regulatory changes related to engineered lumber.
Project Management: Organize and maintain workflow on multiple projects between engineer and design team.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and are compliant with building codes and regulations.
Problem Solving: Address technical issues and provide solutions for lumber installation and performance concerns.
Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including product specifications, installation guides, and warranty information.
Development: develop, review, redline structural templates and framing program templates. Create SOPs (standard operating procedures) for design process and training modules.
Training: Train CAD designers in framing design and lumber sizing software as well as common framing practice in the area.
Meetings: Set up weekly meetings with manager and team members. Show up prepared and on time for meetings.
Project Review: Preliminary review on structural designs prior to Engineer of Record review.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in the engineered lumber industry or related field.
Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and construction practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, structural analysis tools).
Preferred Skills:
Certifications related to engineered wood products (e.g., AWC or APA).
Experience with project management and client relations.
Aid in developing, reviewing and redlining standard structural templates for template suite
